December arrives with full tables… but not for everyone
The end of the year is approaching and many of us are already thinking about dinner, gifts, and the endless list of things to do. For other families, the cost of food makes it difficult to prepare a special meal and share it with peace of mind.
Together to Nourish brings those two realities together. Before fully entering the celebrations, you give yourself a pause. And that same pause puts food on another family’s table.
New women to meet, with facilitated conversations so no one is left alone.
Every contribution becomes food for a pantry that has served Central Florida for more than 40 years.

- You would like to meet new women, but arriving alone to a group feels difficult.
- You work from home and miss being around other people.
- You want to help concretely this holiday season and know where your money goes.
- You have never done yoga, or left it behind some time ago, and want to return without pressure.
- Being outdoors and speaking your language feels good to you.

No previous experience
Every pose has options. You decide how much you do.
Come alone or with someone
Conversations are facilitated so no one is left on the sidelines.
Sharing is optional
You can listen to the entire circle without saying a word.
The circle agreements: we listen without interrupting or trying to solve someone else’s experience, we respect confidentiality, and every woman decides how much to share.
Your money becomes food
Your $25 or more does not get lost along the way. One hundred percent of contributions are used to buy food for the Women's Resource Center of Florida pantry. Nothing remains for event expenses.

You register and contribute $25 or more
Your spot is reserved right away. If you wish to contribute more, you choose the amount.
We buy what they truly need
Before purchasing, I confirm with the organization which foods they need most.
We deliver and show you the result
I bring the food to their Winter Haven location and share the total, what was purchased, and confirmation.
The contribution is not a tax-deductible donation. Would you like to come but cannot contribute $25 today? Write to me and we will look at another option together.
Reserve your spot and help reach the goalContribute from wherever you are
Can’t join us that day? You can still be part of it.
We know December brings commitments, travel, and schedules that do not always align. If you cannot be with us on December 5 but would like to join in, you can contribute from wherever you are.
Your contribution joins everyone else’s and becomes food—100% of it—for the Women's Resource Center of Florida pantry. This holiday season, one more family can sit down at the table with peace of mind.
More than 40 years supporting families in crisis
The Women's Resource Center of Florida is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Winter Haven. It has served Polk County since 1983 and began as a Junior League of Winter Haven volunteer project.
Every year, hundreds of families arrive at its doors facing the loss of their home or financial hardship. There they receive practical support, with dignity and without judgment.

Hello, I’m Marlene
I believe women support one another better when we meet. That is why I organize meditative walks and retreats where women who did not know each other end up talking like friends.
This December I wanted to give that gathering a larger purpose: that our pause becomes food for families who need it. I would love for you to be there.
— Marlene
“At first I hesitated because of the cost, since I was not used to investing in my inner care. Today I see it differently. I was able to connect with other women, face my fears, and share my dream. I left calm, with the feeling that I can let go and that I do not have to hold everything alone.”
“I came to love and care for myself. Hearing my companions’ dreams and recognizing that we all have fears, doubts, joys, and so much heart was very meaningful. The group was ten out of ten: different, yet very transparent. I take away fun, learning, strength, and joy.”
“I needed a moment for myself and to be present. Dancing and singing allowed me to release something I had been carrying. I felt safe, supported, and much calmer and lighter. I take away the phrase ‘I am here’ as a reminder to return to the present.”
“I arrived stressed and wanting to connect with other women in my language. The connection with the group was instant and beautiful. I loved how Marlene held the retreat, stepping in at the right moment and allowing each person to be. I left renewed, motivated, and remembering who I am, my strength, and my abilities.”
“An experience full of love and nature. I especially enjoyed the yoga, the walk, and the conversation. I left very happy to have met such lovely people, wanting to stay in touch and participate in more gatherings like this. Thank you, Marlene, for your warmth and for sharing your wisdom.”
“I wanted to give myself a space. Knowing I could go alone, without knowing anyone, helped me decide. Listening to my companions, I recognized that other women feel similar things. It was a very human gathering, for looking inward and connecting. I take away something important: not demanding so much of myself.”
